KitchenAid is the best supplier of mixers for at-home bakers. Growing up, my mom had a KitchenAid mixer and she has never replaced it.

In fact, she has had the same mixer for over 30 years, and it still works perfectly.

The KitchenAid K45SS Classic comes with many different features that include:

-250-watt, 10-speed mixer with tilt-up head
-4-1/2-quart bowl that can mix for 2 loaves of bread
-Three different mixing tools: flat beater, wire whip, and dough hook.

KitchenAid is known for it’s heavy duty design and thus, does not become very compact. However, it only stands 14 inches high, so it is able to sit underneath kitchen cupboards. The bowl screws onto the bottom of the mixer, and you can purchase bowls that have a handle for your convenience.

For your peace of mind, it comes with a 1 year warranty as well. In that year, if anything happens to your mixer, you will be able to return it without buying a new one.

The mixer also comes with an instruction book that includes mixing tips and recipes. I have learned that instructions are very handy when it comes to baking.

One of the best features of the K45SS Classic stand mixer is the tilt up head. I have used Kitchen Aid mixers that have the drop arm to raise and lower the bowl, but the tilt head is so much easier to use. You just push the head out of the way to use your rubber scrapper around the entire mixing bowl if needed.

The Hamilton Beach 63221 All Metal Stand Mixer makes my life as a cook so much easier.

I am one of those bakers that is all for stand mixers, because to be able to pour my ingredients in while the mixer is going is so much easier than pouring something in (like flour), then putting everything back down to pick up the hand mixer (and spraying flour all over the kitchen when I start mixing).

I think that’s why I like the 63221 stand mixer by Hamilton Beach
Electrics so much: it has a pouring shield so I can pour my flour in without getting it all over me and everything else!

This metal stand mixer has a 400-watt motor and 12 speed settings, so even mixing bread dough is easily doable with the dough hook.

In addition to the dough hook, this mixer also comes with the pouring shield that I mentioned earlier, a flat beater, and a wire whisk. Another nice accessory is the recipes that come with the mixer, so even beginners can start to get the most out of it right away, even if they don’t have a cookbook yet; a small touch, but it shows that Hamilton Beach has really put some thought into their products.

No more bowls wimping out when you start mixing the difficult stuff, either: this mixer comes with a locking bowl (which has made my mother, with her mixer that has a bowl she has to hang on to for dear life, absolutely jealous).

There is a quick-release head too, so you can get full access to the bowl quickly and easily. Believe me, this will come in handy when you accidentally get those tiny egg shell pieces in there along with the eggs (not that I’ve ever done that, of course).
